Segregated Island

Hurrah for Martin Buskin (Feb.15) and Harold Levine (Feb.22) for their incisive articles about the segregated nature of Long Island’s schools and communities.

Hurrah for Westbury and the few other Long Island towns where all people live and educate their children together.

Pity for those parents who in ”protecting” themselves and their children from people different from themselves are the real losers. They are not only missing out on varied and rich friendships, but are also helping to create another generation lacking in understanding and love.
