Republican Governor of Louisiana will sign a bill that was passed by the state’s House on Tuesday that puts abortion medications mifepristone and misoprostol in the same category as heroin and other illegal drugs.

Louisiana will be the first state to ban these medications classified as controlled substances. No doubt more ‘red states’ will follow with their versions of this extremely dangerous legislation.

As reported by Crooks & Liars:

While pregnant women can’t be prosecuted under the new law, anyone else who has these drugs but doesn’t have a prescription could go to jail. That would also bar pharmacies from selling abortion pills to people who’ve just had sex and fear they’re pregnant, and wish to abort the fetus when it’s still no more neurally developed than some Louisiana state lawmakers.
