As the U.S. Supreme Court goes through the motion of deciding whether or not Donald Trump is fit to be on State 2024 ballots, one cannot forget nor neglect the history of the former president who was twice impeached, indicted on 91 counts – including attempting to hide hordes of the nation’s classified documents and attempting to cause an insurrection / attempting to corrupt the peaceful transfer of power, among others.
No one should be surprised if the Court rules that Trump can run again, despite the Constitution and the Rule of Law.

In 2021, the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA) published results of a study that finds the United States of America is a “backsliding” democracy.
“The visible deterioration of democracy in the United States, as seen in the increasing tendency to contest credible election results, the efforts to suppress participation (in elections), and the runaway polarisation … is one of the most concerning developments.”
