Silence From Republican Party Leaders Speaks Volumes, Loudly

Sometimes Fear Is More Than A Lifestyle Choice

Kevin McCarthy’s silence on out-of-control House members of his Party engaging in full-on harassment, threats, and abuse of Democratic colleagues is not that difficult to hear; It clearly – loudly – tells the world that the House Minority leader’s refusal to condemn or discipline the far-right members stems from the very makeup of his being: fear.

It’s been obvious for years that McCarthy is a person who lacks courage. Personal and political. That’s why it’s so easy for him to follow the far-right Republican Party playbook; itself based on another such blueprint from not that many years past. The older playbook and its variants worked for a time* and they seem to be working in today’s America.
