On 7 November 1800, a law was enacted in Paris, France, that made it illegal for women to wear trousers/pants without first obtaining a Police permit.

That law wasn’t removed from the city code until 2013.

Go figure.

There’s a rumor that Republicans in Texas recently heard about the 200-year-old Paris law and are drafting legislation to copy it – but the Texas law won’t include yoga pants. Furthermore, they’re considering making yoga pants for women mandatory in all public venues. And, if President Biden and the DOJ block this law, Texas will add this to its growing list of reasons to secede from the U.S.
