On 20 October in 1917 U.S. suffragette Alice Paul began a 7 month jail sentence for peacefully picketing in support of the women’s Suffrage Amendment (19th Amendment – right to vote) at the White House in Washington, D.C.

In contrast, arrested insurrectionists/rioters on 6 January 2021 who sought to overturn the government of the United States of America, who caused death and destruction, who attempted to destroy the Nation, have received one week, two weeks, and one got 45 days in jail.
