Taliban ban girls from secondary education in Afghanistan

The future of girls and female teachers, stuck at home since Taliban took control, not addressed.

The Taliban education ministry said secondary school classes for boys in grades seven to 12 would resume on Saturday, the start of the Afghan week. “All male teachers and students should attend their educational institutions,” the statement said.

In a further sign that the recently announced Taliban government is tightening restrictions on women, the former ministry of women’s affairs building in Kabul has been handed over to the newly re-established ministry for the prevention of vice and promotion of virtue.

Women Can Avoid Pregnancy With Sexual Abstinence, Texas Law Creator Preaches In Brief

“Women can ‘control their reproductive lives’ without access to abortion; they can do so by refraining from sexual intercourse”, Jonathan Mitchell, former Texas solicitor general.

The key architect of the radical new Texas anti-abortion law has argued in a U.S. Supreme Court brief that women can avoid pregnancy by simply avoiding sex.

No “sexual intercourse”, no conception, wrote former Texas solicitor general Jonathan Mitchell in a brief submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The stunning argument was presented by attorney Jonathan Mitchell in a friend-of-the-court brief this summer supporting a restrictive Mississippi law denying women the right to an abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy. The brief also argued that Roe v. Wade should be overruled.
