You’re Not A Senator. Haven’t Been For A While.
Since January of this year, at least 14 Republican-led states have gone after the voting rights of American citizens with a vengeance. At least 20 laws passed restricting voting.
A month ago, Senate Republicans used the filibuster to block debate on the For the People Act, the popular bill aimed at expanding voting rights.
But, President Joe Biden thinks Republicans “know better” and will eventually come around to do the right thing when it comes to assuring every American gets access to the ballot box.
President Joe Biden also thinks getting rid of the Senate legislative filibuster is the wrong move, because, he says, killing the filibuster would “throw the entire Congress into chaos and nothing will get done”.
Really, Mr. President? Really?
How much is getting done now. America is being governed by the minority party. Your party, sir, is the majority party and America needs you to use the power of the majority and get shit done. America is hurting and looking to you, the President, to lead! You are no longer a senator, haven’t been for quite a while now. America wants you to stop trying to play senator. America wants you to stop trying to convince us that you will convince Republicans to do the right thing.
Enough already! How many times do these anti-America political thugs have to eat your lunch before you say enough. Quit trying to get Mitch McCnnell to like you. McConnell is never going to like you. Stop embarrassing yourself and the more than 83 million Americans who voted for you.
When election results on 6 November 2024 showed Donald Trump had won the Presidency, for me it was like getting punched in the face, repeatedly. I mean – repeatedly!
