Somebody Needs To Go To Prison

Department of Fake Justice Exposed, Again!

The U.S. Department of Justice under the former occupant of the Oval Office secretly grabbed phone and other communications data from at least 12 people connected to the Intelligence Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018, specifically targeting data and persons related to the Russian investigation, including committee chairman Adam Schiff and committee member Eric Swalwell, both Democrats, both from California.

Under the cover of national security matters and perceived and real leaks surrounding the Russia investigation, data was also seized from aides, former aides and family members – including one family member (so far unnamed) who was a minor.

It is not a crime for the DOJ to investigate leaks – presidents, including President Obama, have gone after persons and/or agencies responsible for leaks to the press or to the public. But going after only members of the opposition party makes this a whole other issue. Using the DOJ as a personal ‘political-enemies’ attack weapon is probably, maybe, could be a Watergate-like illegal, anti-democratic, anti-Constitutional endeavour.

“President Trump repeatedly and flagrantly demanded that the Department of Justice carry out his political will, and tried to use the Department as a cudgel against his political opponents and members of the media. It is increasingly apparent that those demands did not fall on deaf ears. The politicization of the Department and the attacks on the rule of law are among the most dangerous assaults on our democracy carried out by the former President.” Adam Schiff.
