“In an effort to strengthen his hold on the party and to purge it of unreliable elements, Hitler established the Committee for Examination and Adjustment (Untersuchungs–und Schlichtungs-Ausschuss). This body, which came to be known as the Uschla, went into operation in 1926. Its principal task was to investigate infractions of party regulations and acts of insubordination vis-a-vis Hitler and other leaders of the movement”.
