The New York Daily News layed off half it’s newsroom effective immediately – telling staff the iconic tabloid will “restructure”.
Among the gone is Editor-in-Chief Jim Rich.

The Daily News is owned by Tronc Inc., based in Chicago, which owns newspapers across the country including the Chicago Tribune, The Baltimore Sun, the Orlando Sentinel. The company last week sold The Los Angeles Times to a Chinese billionaire.
