During a House Judiciary Committee hearing on violence on Asian Americans, Republican Representative Chip Roy of Texas felt is was the righteous American thing to do to glorify lynchings, rant about immigration at the southern border, and for good measure, work into his good-old-boy white-nationalist paradigm a rant about the Chinese Communist Party.

Roy began:

“My concern about this hearing is that it seems to want to venture into the policing of rhetoric in a free society, free speech, and away from the rule of law and taking out bad guys”. 18 March 2021.

Roy added:

“There’s old sayings in Texas about find all the rope in Texas and get a tall oak tree. You know, we take justice very seriously, & we ought to do that. Round up the bad guys.” — pic.twitter.com/uy5irfmJCo  18 March 2021.
