Living in the U.S. today is scary. Unaffordable healthcare, cost of basic groceries, inflation, unemployment, hate, racism, school shootings, rich vs poor, law and order only for some, white nationalism, Christian nationalism, and, of course, an accelerated move toward a military/police state.
Thoughts not great to wake up with. Thoughts offering not a chance of having a pleasant day.
But then, on top of that, having to face the bullshit coming from legacy media in print and broadcast, dealing with social media platforms, running in to three ‘Karens’ in one day, listening to your drunk crazy uncle rant about the ‘left’, all this can drive a person to the very edge.
What keeps me from going over the edge are early morning and evening walks in the park or at the shore. It works for me, especially when I’m lucky enough to get a photo or two reminding me of the calm and beauty. Moreover, I get pleasure in sharing the photos…
