WayBack Wednesday: Defined

•• A General Speaks ••

Investigative journalist at the New York Times, Michael S. Schmidt, had a recent sit-down with retired Marine General John Kelly. Kelly was Trumps’s homeland security secretary and from 2017 to 2019 Trump’s longest serving chief of staff at the White House.

According to Schmidt: It was a tumultuous period in which he drew internal criticism over his own performance and grew disenchanted and distressed by conduct on the part of the president that he considered at times to be inappropriate and reflecting no understanding of the Constitution.

Responding to Schmidt’s question about whether he thought Trump was a fascist, Kelly read out loud a definition of fascism he had found online.

“Well, looking at the definition of fascism: It’s a far-right authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy.”

Additionally:Kelly said that based on his experience, Trump met the definition of a ‘fascist.’”

The most disgusting and disturbing words out of Trump’s mouth – previously revealed by Kelly – was when 5-deferments from military service Mr Bone Spurs ‘had expressed contempt for disabled veterans and had characterized those who died on the battlefield for the United States as “losers” and “suckers”.

Kelly also confirmed previous reports that his former boss had more than once made admiring statements about Hitler: “‘You know, Hitler did some good things, too,’” Kelly recalled to the Times. “Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying ‘nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good,’ but Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again”.

‘I Need the Kind of Generals That Hitler Had’

General Kelly also sat down for an interview with The Atlantic; during which he recalled “that when Trump raised the idea of needing ‘German generals,’ Kelly responded by asking, ‘Do you mean Bismarck’s generals?’ He went on: “I mean, I knew he didn’t know who Bismarck was, or about the Franco-Prussian War. I said, ‘Do you mean the kaiser’s generals? Surely you can’t mean Hitler’s generals? And he said, ‘Yeah, yeah, Hitler’s generals.’”

So, only one more alert, warning, WTF, about the possibility of the wannabe dictator getting a second chance at actually completing his childhood wet dream of being a modern-day Hitler:
