via MSNBC: There was a floor debate on the Republican resolution to authorize an impeachment inquiry targeting President Joe Biden. As expected, the back and forth between the parties was predictable: GOP members pretended they had incriminating evidence, and Democrats reminded them that no such evidence exists in reality.
But there was one unscripted comment that stood out for me, and it was uttered on the House floor by Republican Rep. Ralph Norman of South Carolina:
“The evidence, I think, as things come out, will finally show what the trail is, and the fact that there are consequences. You cannot just not say you are innocent and not have to prove it. So I fully support this inquiry.”
As the video clip of the GOP congressman’s comments showed, Norman was looking across the aisle, as if he were trying to convince Democratic members of how right he was.

Last week 203 House Republicans voted against legislation preventing U.S. Presidents from using the Electoral Count Act to overturn the will of the People. The bill did pass 229-203: every House Democrat present voted in favor and were joined by nine Republicans. The nine Republicans will not be in the House much longer as they are either retiring or lost their primary.
No one should be surprised by that vote, primarily because Republicans have been voting against democracy for a long time.

A vote Wednesday in the United States House of Representatives on legislation aimed at preventing presidents from using the Electoral Count Act to overturn the will of the People was passed by a margin of 229-203; every House Democrat present voted in favor and 203 Republicans voted against H.R.8873 – the Presidential Election Reform Act. Nine Republicans voted with Democrats, but the nine are leaving Congress when the current term ends, either because they are retiring or lost in their primary.
Worth repeating: 203 House Republicans voted against protections preventing future attempts to deny the peaceful transfer of power such as was attempted, and continues, by Donald Trump and his cabal of sycophants and traitors following the legitimate 2020 presidential election.

Neo Fascists In Suits And Dresses
Almost two hundred Republican members of the United States Senate and House of Representatives who publicly supported the former sitting president’s attempted coup hid under desks and chairs like the sniveling, spineless cowards they are when the armed and violent Trump domestic terrorists stormed the U.S. Capitol during the Electoral College certification of the Presidential election of Joe Biden looking to cause harm or kill Democratic leaders including Speaker of The House Nancy Pelosi, third in line to the Presidency.
The terrorists also were looking for Vice-President Mike Pence who Trump had labeled not loyal enough when he refused to overturn the election results during the Electoral College vote. The terrorists ‘chanted’ “hang Mike Pence”; they already had constructed a functioning gallows on Capitol grounds.
The terrorist assault resulted in the death of at least five, including a Capitol police officer.
A few hours later, these same traitors who hid under chairs and desks rose as the neo-fascists they are to once again play their role in the attempted coup. They returned to the vote and continued their attempt to overturn the legitimate election.
