Citizens Honoured

Police officers who put their lives on the line when attacked at the U.S. Capitol by armed domestic terrorists on 6 January 2021, local election workers and state officials from across the country who faced fierce intimidation and harassment, and who continue to get death threats to themselves and their families for doing their jobs, were honoured in the White House East Room where they received the Presidential Citizens Medal for their bravery and standing strong for the U.S. Constitution.

Said President Biden: “Our democracy held. We the people did not flinch.”
