A South Carolina judge on Wednesday ordered former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows to testify before a special grand jury that’s investigating whether then-President Donald Trump and his sycophants illegally tried to influence the state of Georgia’s 2020 election.
Atlanta-area prosecutors had to seek the order from the South Carolina judiciary because Meadows now lives in South Carolina.
The Fulton County district attorney’s office offered multiple dates in November when they would be happy to accommodate Meadows in Georgia.
It must be noted that Meadows is and will forever be linked to Ginni Thomas – wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas – and her efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

The House committee investigating the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol has obtained email correspondence between Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and lawyer John Eastman [he once clerked for Clarence Thomas], who played a key role in efforts to pressure Vice President Mike Pence to block the certification of Joe Biden’s victory, according to three people involved in the committee’s investigation.
The emails show that Thomas’s efforts to overturn the election were more extensive than previously known, two of the people said. The three declined to provide details and spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.
Thomas also sent messages to President Donald Trump’s White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, and to Arizona lawmakers, pressing them to help overturn the election.
In January, the Supreme Court rejected a request by Trump to block the release of his White House records to the House committee investigating Jan. 6. Clarence Thomas was the only justice to dissent, siding with the former president.

What Price Loyalty?
The House select committee taking a deep dive into the 6 January Capitol attack has issued subpoenas to four of the former president’s closest aides: former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, former deputy White House chief of staff Dan Scavino, the former acting defense secretary’s former chief of staff Kash Patel and that great Amerikan who always looks like he needs a shower – the former guy’s campaign manager Steve Bannon.
Of course there’s always the possibility that that whole one-way loyalty thing forever demanded by the former guy will take on a whole new meaning with these ‘aides’ and their families if and when they look into the future and see themselves in a jail cell at a federal prison. It’s funny how that works.
