Wednesday WayBack: Still Riding The Fast Train To Hell

The reality that the long arm of the law might soon be reaching out with handcuffs dangling has the former twice impeached one-term president once again making the case for prosecutors.

During an ‘interview’ with right-wing columnist at The Washington Post, Hugh Hewitt, Donald Trump said he “can’t imagine being indicted”.

“There is no reason that they can, other than if they’re just sick and deranged, which is always possible, because I did absolutely nothing wrong”.

Okay, go ahead, keep up the charade. Delusional, yes. Not unexpected, yes. And, in America, not illegal. But then…… the former guy once again went another step too far.

“I think, if it happened, you’d have problems in this country the likes of which, perhaps, you have ever seen before. I don’t think the people of the United States would stand for it.”

Trump added: “Big problems”.

Riding The Fast Train To Hell, Still

Posted here 2022.06.17

Over 40 years of research has firmly established an odd fact about us humans. If we are deeply invested in a belief, we find it almost impossible to admit—even to ourselves—that we are wrong. Indeed, if confronted with incontrovertible proof that we’ve made a mistake, we’ll double down on the mistake rather than embrace the truth.

NOTE: Quotes of the interview are from a piece at Crooks and Liars posted Thursday. A situation beyond my control prevented me from posting my Wednesday WayBack on, well, Wednesday. However, it worked out just fine. (I think…)
