A 22-year old male using a high-powered rifle shooting from a rooftop at a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois, murdered 6 people and wounded over two dozen.

Several children were among the wounded taken to hospital.

According to reports, a ‘person of interest’ was ‘taken into custody without incident’.
