Friday Plea: Let’s Go Back

Myths That Never Exist

Speaker Pelosi Responds

In a letter to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, a small group of right-wing Democrats on Friday threatened to sink their Party’s $3.5 trillion budget resolution – “the cornerstone of the Democrats’ social spending and climate agenda” – unless she first allows a vote on a $550 billion bipartisan infrastructure bill that has been criticised as inadequate and potentially harmful to the environment.

But in the same letter, the nine right-wing Dems did not commit to voting for the budget resolution even if the bipartisan infrastructure bill passes; they only vowed to “consider” supporting the resolution.

The nine ‘conservative’ House Democrats pretending to care about their constituents, are:

Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey

Carolyn Bourdeaux of Georgia

Filemon Vela of Texas

Henry Cuellar of Texas

Vicente Gonzalez of Texas

Ed Case of Hawaii

Kurt Schrader of Oregon

Jared Golden of Maine

Jim Costa of California

If these oh so brave wingers really wanted to help their people – maybe they shouldn’t care so much.
