High-Ranking Cowards
The two highest-ranking elected Republicans in the United States of America said they were too busy to watch the congressional testimony of four police officers who defended them, the rest of their Q-cult, the outgoing Republican Vice-President Mike Pence from being hanged – and all elected officials and staff regardless of Party – during the armed domestic terrorist attack on the Captiol on 6 January 2021 in the attempt to overturn the 2020 election results.
When asked by reporters soon after the officers’ testimony, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said “I was too busy doing work”. That work, although he didn’t come right out and say it, one can assume that McConnell was referring to the really busy task of coming up every day with ways to kill the Biden Administration’s infrastructure bills. What else could be on his busy agenda? Certainly not the much needed business of and for the American people.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, also just too busy to watch testimony from four police officers who took their duty and oath to defend the Constitution seriously – putting their lives on the line, said he was stuck in “back-to-back meetings”. But coward McCarthy was not too busy to hold a press conference outside the Capitol before the testimony began during which he and other Republican cowards blamed Speaker Nancy Pelosi, not Trump for the insurrection.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy tells me he was not able to watch the Jan. 6 select committee hearing today because he was stuck in “back to back meetings”. Melanie Zanona (@MZanona)
