“With All Due Respect”
Voting rights warrior Stacey Abrams proves once again that she is not someone who comes to your Q & A meeting unprepared. She proves, once again, that she is not someone to be taken lightly. And before she is done, she can, and most likely will, embarrass anyone stupid enough to be unprepared.
During the recent U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on voting rights, Abrams was confronted by an angry mob – aah, Republican senators – over her objections to Georgia’s ‘new’ Republican-passed restrictive voting law. Leading the mob was Republican Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana.
Kennedy’s strategy was ripped from the old, old political gotcha playbook: Ask question, repeatedly interrupt; ask another question before the previous is answered, repeatedly interrupt that question; and so on, and so on. Most often that works when the questionee is of lesser standing.
Not with Stacey Abrams.
On Tuesday, Abrams took to Twitter to answer Kennedy’s questions in an uninterrupted 6-minute video. It is, really, a must watch…
“I know we got cut off before, so let me continue”
I was asked for a list of my objections to Georgia Republicans’ voter suppression law, so here’s a video.#gapol #SB202 pic.twitter.com/K5Cnj48VyA – Stacey Abrams (@staceyabrams) April 27, 2021
