It’s Who They Are!

Republicans in the House led by Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Minority Whip Steve Scalise said Monday they are going forward with plans to censure Maxine Waters because they just can’t stand by while the California Democrat “incited violence” and broke the law by “violating curfew” when she spoke to reporters while in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota Saturday night during a protest against the killing by police of Daunte Wright.

The whole of what Representative Waters said: “We’ve got to stay on the street and we’ve got to get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to be sure that they know we mean business”.

On Monday, Waters explained: “The whole civil rights movement is confrontation” and that she “was nonviolent” and that “Republicans will jump on any word, any line and try to make it fit their message and their cause for denouncing us and denying us, basically calling us violent”.
