Facts That Matter

Ron Johnson, Republican senator from Wisconsin and trump lackey extraordinaire, who, rumour has it, won’t take a dump without first checking with trump, said he doesn’t think the January 6, 2021 attack on the United States Capitol was an armed insurrection.

“The fact of the matter is this didn’t seem like an armed insurrection to me. I mean armed – when you hear armed, don’t you think of firearms?” And then during the interview on a local radio station where he twisted himself into knots trying to rewrite the history of that day, Johnson continued: “Here’s the questions I would have liked to ask. How many firearms were confiscated? How many shots were fired?”

Well, Ron, as a matter of fact, a number of individuals at the violent attack who were arrested have been charged by federal authorities with unlawful possession of firearms. As a matter of fact, Ron, one of them – allegedly – had 11 Molotov cocktails hidden in his van parked nearby. As a matter of fact, Ron, law enforcement found pipe bombs planted at the nearby Democratic and Republican party headquarters.

Ron, if you would take the time to watch at least some of the videos from that day you will see many of the domestic terrorists who attacked the U.S. Capitol using flag poles and anything they could get their hands on to attack police officers. And, Ron, you must have been told that the insurrectionists as they were running into the Capitol were shouting “Hang Pence!”, as in hang (now former) VP Mike Pence.

Now, Ron, you pathetic piece of shit, the fact of the matter is that at least seven people died that day, including a Capitol police officer who was beaten to death by the terrorists using a fucking fire extinguisher. Armed, as in armed with a gun, no Ron, but the man is still dead and his family is still grieving.
