On Sunday, Donald Trump told Chris Wallace in a Fox News interview that the reason he hasn’t gone to visit troops in war zones in Iraq or Afghanistan was because of “those phony witch hunts.”
But he said he would be sure to do that some day, because, ya know, nobody has done more for the military and Veterans than him. No, really, he said it: “I don’t think anybody has done more than me.”
Hmmm… I think he should explain that to troops who will spend the upcoming holidays in war zones where the hunts are real and deadly, and to the Veterans who haven’t received their VA benefit checks for months, due to ‘IT issues.’ Not getting those checks leaves many Veterans vulnerable to going hungry and homelessness.
But hey, those witch hunts…
Trump also attacked retired Four Star Admiral William H. McRaven, a decorated former Navy SEAL, who oversaw the operation that killed Osama bin Laden. Trump dishonored the operation, saying: “it would have been nicer if we got Osama bin Laden a lot sooner.”
NOTE: And it would have been nicer if you had served your country rather than getting your rich daddy to scheme five draft deferments for you when it was your turn to go to Vietnam.
McRaven has said Trump is a dangerous threat to democracy because, among other reasons, he continues to call the Press the enemy of the people.
