Yesterday, Democrats, Republicans, former high-ranking government officials, former politicians – and even a few media types – spoke out against Donald Trump siding with Vladimir Putin on Russia’s “meddling” in the 2016 presidential election. Only one, John Brennan called it like it is: Trump’s behaviour at the presser was “treasonous”.
But.. Republican leadership today had a different take on Russia’s attack on our country.
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WIS) proves once again he is more in support of Donald Trump than the security of the nation:
“They did interfere in our elections, it’s really clear — there should be no doubt about that. It’s also clear that it didn’t have a material effect on our elections.”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) came out with a really powerful warning to the Russians:
“I think the Russians need to know that there are a lot of us who fully understand what happened in 2016 and it really better not happen again in 2018”.
